Board certified music therapists and women business owners,

launched The Song Society, to meet the need of the community in the medical field.

To all of our patients who have taught us to never give up, we have decided to officially launch our own non-profit, in addition to Music Therapy St. Louis, called The Song Society. Where music therapy gives every voice, every song, a place.

We wholeheartedly believe when things aren’t exactly working out the way you expected, it means that the universe is sending you a sign to do something different. Sometimes those signs are small and sometimes they are monumental. Nevertheless, it forces us to make changes, make hard decisions, and sometimes even take risks. And nobody said it better than our all-time inspirations, the incomparable Barbara Streisand,

“If you want something different, then you have to do something different.”

 

So we did.

The Song Society is a St. Louis-based, non-profit 501(c)3 organization that provides music therapy, unique therapeutic songwriting experiences, led by board-certified music therapists, to support and empower the voices of children (5+), teens and families affected by life-altering medical conditions, cancer and late-effects, and chronic illness. With numerous clinical partnership sites and our very own therapy space/studio, graciously donated by The LIGHT Foundation.

 

We could not be more excited for this launch of a new mission – providing opportunities to help raise these beautiful voices and help their story come to life through music. We would not be able to do this without the help of some amazing mentors and trusted partnerships, a stellar board, dedicated donors, and the unending support of so many who believe in the work we do and how we do it – so THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts!
